Environmental Impact

Health and Safety

National Heat Exchange is conscious and concerned about the environmental impact of our cleaning processes. That is why we developed the cleanest, safest, most effective and environmentally friendly heat exchanger cleaning methods available. Our EMBC produces ZERO hazardous liquid waste for most coolers. We use biodegradable chemicals, such as Ultra-Clean Descaler. Further, our EPA Licensed, in-house wastewater treatment system meets municipal standards for proper discharge.

EMBC Environmental Benefits

NHE customizes the cleaning procedure for every customer’s equipment to minimize the waste stream while refurbishing units.

Traditional high-pressure washing methods can generate up to 23,000 gallons of contaminated water that needs to be treated before disposal. NHE’s patented process produces ZERO hazardous liquid waste with most coolers. Those coolers that require a water-based cleaning solution produce 93% LESS liquid waste than traditional methods.

Ultra-Clean Descaler

NHE uses biodegradable chemicals when appropriate to minimize the need for waste treatment and meet FDA standards.

Ultra-Clean Descaler rinses clean and is safe for the environment. Also, with regular treatments, Ultra-Clean DS keeps equipment running efficiently, which conserves energy and substantially increases the life of the equipment. This powerful, yet totally safe, the liquid is non-toxic, non-injurious, non-flammable, non-hazardous, non-corrosive, and biodegradable.

Wastewater Treatment and Disposal

NHE is the first facility to have an EPA licensed in-house wastewater and solid waste treatment system. The trail ends here!

While NHE strives to create minimal liquid waste, it is still necessary to properly treat any that is produced. We treat any and all wastewater in our in-house waste treatment system. Solid waste is pressed into filter cakes and shipped in barrels to an haz-waste incinerator, where they are tested to meet local municipal limits before being discharged.

So what sets National Heat Exchange apart environmentally from all the other cleaning companies out there?

Simply put we do more than just clean. NHE optimizes plants’ heat transfer efficiency through patented processes and targeted value-added services. What we really do for our customers is to reduce maintenance costs, increase profits, shorten outages, and reduce capital expenditures. In addition, NHE eliminates environmental liability and creates predictive (vs reactive) planning.
